Digital Inclusion Fellowship

The University AME Zion Church Digital Inclusion Fellowship is a program created to bridge the digital divide among adults and the elderly. A member of the 2017 cohort, the University AME Zion fellow placed on assignment with us is Lorena Cuffy, a new member of our church family. Lorena is an emerging community leader with expertise in building and leading digital literacy programs that are tailored to suit an individual community’s specific needs.

This pilot program has specific goals and we have seen immediate progress. We have already been able to create and expand on events that allow generational educational interactions. Our first goal is to give children the opportunity to see parents and grandparents as learners. Our second goal is to build a network of resources allowing parents to have more constant, and positive interactions with their children's educational experiences and digital knowledge. Our final goal is to create welcoming environments for adult learners to pursue their professional development goals in order to improve the lives of their families and build up their communities.

The University AME Zion Church Digital Inclusion Fellowship is sponsored by Google, in partnership with the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN), Value Partnerships, and Rainbow PUSH.
